Tehran - Installation of ceiling for the second LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) reservoir in the phases 6, 7 and 8 of the South Pars Gas Field was completed, said a fax released on Tuesday by the Public Relations Department of Pars Oil and Gas Company.

The numbers of reservoirs are 4, and they are used for storing propane and butane. Ceiling of the first reservoir has already been installed. Experts used root air raising method to install the second ceiling.

In this method, the metal parts of the ceiling of the reservoir are raised nearly up to 27m with a progress of 200 to 600 millimeters per minute. After welding and integration of the required surfaces, the reinforcement and concrete operations are carried out in order to install the ceiling.

One of the installed reservoirs is for butane storage, and is 26.80m in height. Given the storage capacity of 45000 cu. m, the reservoir's ceiling weighs at 300 tons. Butane is kept in the reservoir at the temperature of 7 degrees below zero.

The other reservoir weighs 417 tons and is 26.80m in height, with a ceiling diameter of 62.5m. It has the storage capacity of 55,000 cu. m for propane, kept at the temperature of minus 46 degrees Celsius.

The propane and butane produced in the SP phases 6-8 are stored in the said reservoirs for gradual export.

The SP phases 6-8 produce 3 billion cu. m sour and dried gases per day to be injected into Aghajari oilfields. The phases also produce 120,000 barrels condensates and some 3 million tons of propane and butane per day for the export purposes.
