Mashhad, Razavi Khorassan prov -- Head of the R&D Department at Razi Petrochemical Facility in Mahshahr Special Petrochemical- Economic Zone Majid Pour-Saadat said 30 major projects  are being implemented at the Facility.

Pour-Saadat told IRNA after meeting a group of academicians that the research projects are being implemented with Iranian universities having a 50 percent share, Oil Industry Research Institute with a 20 percent share, private companies with 10 percent and Facility`s personnel contributing to 20 percent of the project.

He said his company had spent rls 2.5 billion on research projects and rls one billion for purchase of necessary instruments.

He added that his company is currently designing an instrument for separation of the sulfuric compounds of gas liquids at five million  dollars.

The official said that his company is the sole exporter of ammonia, sulfur and of urea chemical fertilizers, while the first major consumer of sour gases.

He said Razi Petrochemical Facility annually yields 2.4 million tons of petrochemical products, a figure which would rise to 3,000,700 tone once related projects come on stream.
