Intex launched its range of mobiles phones in Oman at Emax, Muscat City Center, on Monday. The mobile phones offer dual SIM card facilities and an extended battery backup.
"This exclusive partnership is a matter of great pride and brings a wider spectrum of products to Emax," said Clive Freeman, general manager of Landmark Group.
"We are sure that the value for money proposition of Intex mobiles will be a great advantage to customers."
Ruwi International Enterprise LLC, the distributor of Intex computer peripherals in Oman for the past six years, will market Intex mobile phones and will also provide after-sales services, Mohammed Iqbal, business manager at Intex Mobile, Middle East and North Africa, said.
Iqbal also said that the phones were nominally priced and offered the best battery backup with a standby time of 30 days.
"The price range for all the models varies from RO14 to RO64. The Intex IN 2020 Vision is a special phone designed for blind people with voice recognition and talking phone facility. In addition, the company has launched the only phone with a projector capability in the Omani market."
The talking phone facility provides voiced instructions to users. The brand is in the process of launching new models, including tablets and phones with Android 2.2 Operating System.
Iqbal added that Intex has expanded internationally to provide products like cellphones, LCD TVs, DVD players, monitors, desktop PCs, anti-virus and Internet security.
