Abu Dhabi: The third edition of the Indo-Arab Cultural Festival will commence on Thursday, organisers announced here.

The 10-day event, organised by the Kerala Social Centre (KSC), will be a blend of cultural and literary programmes, presented with the participation of prominent figures from art and literary fields, both from India and the Arab world.

"The festival aims to act as a platform for bartering concepts between the Arab and Indian communities and thereby assist the development and growth of cordial correlation between the two countries", said K. B. Murali, the president of KSC.

The festival will include poetic gatherings, literary and media seminars, women's meet, story narration, film festival, interactive sessions with guests, painting and book exhibition, felicitation of distinguished persons and cultural programmes like Egyptian Tanoura dance and Indian folk dance and music.

Some of the prominent guests participating in the event will include Indian Member of Parliament D. Raja, Deputy Speaker of Federal National Council, Ahmad Shabeeb Al Daheri, Indian Ambassador Talmiz Ahmad.
