NEW DELHI, April 7 (KUNA) -- PSL Ltd., an enabler in the Indian infrastructure and construction industry, has bagged a USD 19 million order from the Sultanate of Oman for supplying steel pipes.

The order for supply of API quality steel pipes, coated both internally and externally, is to be completed within seven months. The pipes will be supplied from PSL's plant at Kandla in Western Indian state of Gujarat.

"We are extremely delighted to be associated with The Sultanate of Oman for their projects. PSL has recently announced its decision to start its manufacturing operations in the lower gulf region of the Middle East," PSL managing director Ashok Punj said in a statement in Delhi Friday.

PSL has been exporting pipes to The Sultanate of Oman and other countries in West Asia in the past and with this venture, the company plans to consolidate its hold in this market.

"Post the set-up of our proposed new pipe mill, we will have 13 mills operating, 12 in India and one in the Gulf," Mr Punj said.

The company has six pipe mills at Kandla, one at Chennai and two each at Vizag (both Southern India) and Ahmedabad (also Gujarat). It is also planning to set-up a in the Gulf, the statement added.
