MUSCAT -- The Institute of HSE Management (New Image) hosted the IOSH Middle East Branch Oman meeting yesterday. The meeting attended by Jonathan Gorvin, the International Officer of the IOSH, was sponsored by Carrillion Allawi and was represented by Karl Simons IMS Director and Oman Pesco. Oman Pesco was represented by its General Manager Aiman Naguib.

Karl Simons, John Punter, Peter Hamel and Aiman Naguib presented safety lectures on health and safety education strategy; Duqm project update, radiation in Oman and emergency planning respectively. More than 40 participants from variety of industries like oil and gas, construction, electrical, ROP and military organisations attended the event.

Peter McNair, Managing Director of Institute of HSE Management and IOSH Co-ordinator in Oman, thanked the lecturers for their professional presentations. He also thanked the participants for their valuable support in the advancement of safety in a multicultural society in Oman.  IOSH (UK) supported translation of IOSH International Courses in Arabic. IHSEM conducted the first pilot programme. Later, awards were presented for IOSH Managing Safety Courses and NEBOSH Qualifications.
