Dubai: HP’s Envy x2 is an 11.6-inch (29.5cm) tablet that can also double as a computer with a docking keyboard.

It is powered by a 1.8GHz Intel Atom processor and backed by 2GB of RAM. It runs on the Windows 8 operating system and supports 64GB of internal storage.

The brushed-aluminium finish resembles Envy2 a lot like an Apple MacBook Air. The (1366 x 768) IPS display gives better viewing angles and weighs just 0.71kg and 1.4kg with docking station.

The tablet holds the headphone jack, microSD slot, and docking port while the docking station has an additional battery apart from the full-size HDMI port, two USB 2.0 ports, a full-size SDXC card reader, and a duplicate headphone jack. It does not contain a USB 3.0 port.

One of the main advantages is its battery life. HP claims the tablet and docking station provides 19 hours of battery life. HP labels the speakers on Envy x2 as Beats Audio for a superior audio experience.

The tablet portion has a 8MP HD 1080p rear-facing camera with LED flash and a front-facing 1080p HD webcam with an integrated digital microphone.

Regarding connectivity, it has wi-fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and Near Field Communication (NFC).

For music lovers, HP Play embedded software gives access to Universal Musics’s catalogue. It is priced at Dh3,199.
