Robotics will be one of the most important disruptive forces in this century. Demographics in the developed world and the need for widespread productivity gains will be the underlying forces pushing robotics into every fabric of society.
In some ways robotics is an old technology and in others a new disruptive one. The difference between decade-old manufacturing robots and new robots is the increasing use of artificial intelligence (AI). We are continuously moving closer to the point where machines have the ability to act human. When they surpass human intelligence our civilisation has reached technological singularity.
For investors this begs the question of how to capitalise on this obvious technological trend. Below I present two investment cases. One that represent the old world of robotics and another that capitalises on the new frontier within intelligent robotics.
