DUBAI - Following its strategic alliance with EIH Limited, Hilton International has rebranded seven Trident hotels in India as Trident Hilton and - transformed the former Oberoi Towers in Mumbai to the Hilton Towers.

"For the first time, Hilton customers from around the world, including the Arabian Peninsula, can visit India and stay in a network of Hilton-branded hotels in eight great locations. Whether they meet for business in Delhi, Chennai or Mumbai or tour the historical attractions in Rajasthan or Kerala, they can now experience Hilton standards delivered through the superior expertise of the EIH group," said Gunnar Brandberg,  Vice President Business Development Middle East & Asia Pacific Hilton International.

Under the strategic alliance,  EIH will continue to manage all hotels and undertake domestic marketing promotion and reservation in India, whilst Hilton International will assume responsibility for all international marketing, promotional and reservation activities through its global network. 

The eight re-branded hotels include Trident-Hilton Gurgaon,  Agra, Jaipur, Udaipur, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Cochin and Hilton Towers in Mumbai.   Moreover, Trident Hilton Mumbai, a 400-room new property in north Mumbai, is scheduled to be built and opened in 2007.

Hilton International's major expansion plan for the Middle East Asia Pacific region, announced earlier during the Arabian Travel Market this year, will see the opening of 10 new properties in the Middle East including a new hotel in the UAE, with numerous other hotels planned in the region - further strengthening Hilton international's position in the region's Brand Ranking Index.
