MUSCAT -- Hi-Tech Services and Supplies LLC (Hi-Tech), part of the Trading SBU of the Al Hassan Group along with its principal, Böhler Welding Group, Austria jointly organised a technical seminar on welding consumables for Pipeline Welding and Corrosion Resistant Alloy (CRA) Materials recently at Crowne Plaza Muscat, with the aim of showcasing cost effective and efficient pipeline welding solutions.
The Hi-Tech team was in full attendance led by Abbas Jamal, GM-Trading SBU, Al Hassan Group while Böhler Welding Group team comprised Manfred Höfer, Technical Regional Manager, Sandish Salian, Technical Sales Manager and Balaji Narasimhan, Area Sales Manager.

Höfer began the seminar by sharing the latest International trends in the Welding Sector and an interesting analysis of Global Statistics of Volumes in welding consumables. Later, he outlined the advantages of using basic low hydrogen electrodes for pipeline welding. He also spoke about usage of higher grades of steels in the Oil & Gas and Petrochemicals sector. He presented a number of international as well as regional case studies regarding welding on CRA material for pipelines and other structures/vessels.
Commenting on the seminar, Abbas Jamal said, "Hi-Tech Services & Supplies in partnership with Böhler looks ahead to be the preferred welding solutions provider in the Sultanate of Oman. We hope that by organising such Technical events, Quality control managers and welding engineers in Oman will have access to the latest welding technology during execution of prestigious projects in the country."
