Fujairah, Dec 04th, 2011 (WAM) -- His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah and His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, today made an inspection tour in the Emirate of Fujairah. They were accompanied by H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah.
The tour, which comes upon the directives by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, aimed to inspect the conditions of citizens and assess their needs in different areas and projects in the emirate. Sheikh Hamad and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed began their tour by inspecting progress of work on the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque project in Fujairah. they were briefed by the project manager Halima Al Shihi on the mosque which is designed to accommodate 28,000 worshippers. The project is being built at a total cost of AED 200 million. They also stopped at the Fujairah Fort and were briefed about the history of that landmark, the largest fort in the emirate which is built on a 20 feet high cliff. Sheikh Hamada and sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed then moved to Fujairah Port and made a tour of its piers, dry and bulk cargo stores, container terminal and oil carriers stations. They also visited the site of Abu Dhabi-Fujairah crude pipeline project and listened to a presentation by Khadim Al Qubaisi, Managing Director of IPIC, on the AED 10 billion project with a capacity to transport 2 to 2.5 million barrels per day of crude via a 360-kilometer and 48 inch diameter pipeline. The last stop of the tour was the Fujairah Naval Base. They were received there by Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, and Commodore Ibrahim Al Mushrakh, commander of the Naval forces. Their Highnesses were accompanied during the tour by Mohammed Ahmed Al-Murr, Speaker of the Federal National Council, Lt. General H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, H. H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court , other Sheikhs and senior officials. Meanwhile, H.H. sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs visited yesterday Wadi Sifni in Ras Al Khaimah and met with the citizens there.
