Abu Dhabi, May 10th, 2010 (WAM) -- The Health Authority Abu Dhabi (HAAD), the regulatory body of the healthcare sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, has confirmed the continued roll out of TAWUN project, an initiative to build closer ties and open lines of communication with the public and private healthcare facilities across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Launched in 2009, the initiative aims to provide an opportunity for facilities and their staff to speak with HAAD management one on one, and to discuss any issues or concerns they may have. The program strives to increase the awareness of HAAD and the role it plays within the healthcare sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Engineer Zaid Al Siksek, CEO of HAAD said: "Healthcare professionals are instrumental in realizing the healthcare sectors strategic plan and advancing the healthcare system and services provided to the community." "The TAWUN initiative was well received by over twenty five of the hospitals and medical facilities that were visited in 2009. Healthcare professionals feedback, opinions, and suggestions will contribute to the improvement and development of policies, procedures, and services provided to the public in the Emirate", he added. Some of the facilities visited in 2009 included Lifeline Hospital, Al Noor Hospital, Al Mafraq Hospital, The National Rehabilitation Centre, Zayed Complex for Herbal Research and Traditional Medicine, along with Sila Hospital in Al Gharbia and Tawam Hospital in Al Ain. During 2010 - 2011 all hospitals and healthcare facilities within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi will be visited by two senior HAAD managers to listen and discuss staff suggestions and complaints and to outline HAADs, strategic plan, programs, policies, as well as the services it provides to healthcare professionals. Visited healthcare facilities will also be provided with TAWUN Program, a HAAD reference guide for hospitals and medical centers that explains briefly the Healthcare sector strategic plan, HAAD organizational structure and strategic initiatives. This will be accompanied by a copy of the 2009 Annual Report which will be available shortly. Furthermore to an evaluation form that provides the healthcare facilities with an opportunity to present feedback on the TAWUN visit as well as any issues or grievances they are facing will be used during the visits.Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2010.
