Dubai: Clothing retailer Giordano has launched a new online portal featuring more than 300 of its most popular products.
The website www.giordano-me.com is being piloted in the UAE, and the intention is to deliver orders within five working days.
The portal is another demonstration of how Giordano adapts its business model to expand reach, and provide the best possible customer service, said Ishwar Chugani, executive director of Giordano, Middle East, India and Africa.
Were piloting online shopping first in the UAE, with plans to cover other markets in the future.
Growth
The brand recorded a 12 per cent growth during the first quarter of the year across the region compared with the same period in 2011. The gains were led by a strong performance in Saudi Arabia.
The store network now totals 226, including the eight which opened this year in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, India, and Lebanon. A further ten are planned before the end of the year, including launches in Palestine and Mozambique, and additional shops in Lebanon, Georgia and Sudan. The aim is to hit 250 stores by 2015.
The retailer is investing Dh10 million in new stores this year.
