Amman, July 4 (Petra) - The General Islamic Conference of Jerusalem urged Arab and Muslim leaders to be united to show the world that peace can not be achieved in the Middle East without the return of Jerusalem.

In a press release issued on Monday, the conference called on the world's religious and political leaders to support the Arab-Muslim legitimate rights in Jerusalem until just and permanent peace is achieved.

They said that Israel is violating Palestinian people's rights by attacking religious holy places in Jerusalem, pointing to the 13 tunnel which penetrates the walls of Al-Aqsa Mosque, the 115 archaeological excavations in the vicinity of Al-Aqsa and the demolition of the Magharibah Gate to build a bridge.

It said Israel did not only judaize the holy city, but also carried out a process of ethnic cleansing by isolating 60,000 Palestinians from their city under vairous pretexts.

The conference warned that seizing more Palestinian territories occupied since 1967 requires an Arab, Islamic and International stance to address these serious plans which aim at occupying the largest areas of Palestinian lands, especially in Jerusalem.
