Dubai, Jan 26th, 2006 (WAM) - GE Healthcare, a unit of GeneralElectric Company, showcased its breakthrough products designedto revolutionize the Middle East healthcare industry at ArabHealth 2006.

As part of its commitment to providing medical technologieswhich will help to shape a new era in patient care, GE Healthcarelaunched its latest range of diagnostic imaging technologiesat the annual Middle East healthcare exhibition that was heldfrom 22-25 January at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre.

Also a gold sponsor of the Middle East Imaging and DiagnosticCongress, which ran concurrently with the Arab Health exhibition,GE Healthcare took the opportunity to unveil some of its latestadvanced technologies, providing medical professionals with theopportunity to learn more about GE's breakthrough products andapplications.

New GE technologies such as the LightSpeed VCT, Discovery VCT,Magnetic Resonance (MR) imaging HDE and HDX, the Volume ImagingProtocol for Ultrasound, and Centricity PACS SE created a lotof buzz during the exhibition.

GE Healthcare also unveiled the company's new series of ComputedTomography (CT) systems that includes much of the proven advancedtechnology available on the company's volume CT system, the LightSpeedVCT, in a smaller package. This new series of performance scanners,called BrightSpeed?, provides the same exceptional image quality,productivity capabilities and reliability of the industry-leadingLightSpeed systems, but on the new BrightSpeed? 4-, 8- and 16-sliceCT systems.
