MUSCAT -- With Health, Safety and the Environment (HSE) being seen as a top priority by leading corporations here and around the world, Galfar's Seeb Wastewater Network Project team celebrated the outstanding accomplishment of 1-million man-hours without Lost Time Injury (LTI) with a congratulations party, at the Ramee Guestline Resort in Seeb on Thursday.

Guests, senior Galfar project staff and employees, clients and consultants joined in the fun and revelry of the celebratory bash, with entertainment and a luscious banquet laid out for them to enjoy. On the occasion, T G Philip, Vice-President (QHSE), Galfar, presented V K Gupta, Project Director of Special Project Unit 2 with a memento to mark the accomplishment.

Gupta thanked his staff and co-workers for the achievement and requested them to keep up the good work. He also thanked their clients and consultants for their continued guidance and support on the HSE aspects of the project. Gupta highlighted and outlined the problems they have faced due to the nature of their work. He said, the pipelines and the chambers are to be laid in narrow streets, close to the houses and on roads, besides other areas. This, he pointed out, makes the job very challenging from a safety point of view. In-spite of all the challenges, Galfar has remained committed to safety for its employees and the general public, he added.
