DAMMAM - The General Authority for Civil Aviation is planning to limit the maximum allowance of a piece of luggage to 30 kg to protect the rights of workers who carry luggage at airports. The move was endorsed by the National Society for Human Rights (NSHR).

Sources at the King Fahd International Airport in Dammam said all passengers would be required to abide by this weight limit, which will be coordinated between the Ministry of Labor, the Civil Aviation Authority and the NSHR. Secretary-General of the NSHR Khalid Al-Fakhri said this is a basic right granted to the workers while taking into account their working conditions and circumstances.
