Iran exported 43 million liters of various oil products in the past year (ended March 19) worth at $10 billion, said the managing director of National Iranian Oil Production & Distribution Company (NIOPDC).

Talking to reporters on the eve of the 17th International Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Exhibition, Jalil Salari said that last year's exported oil products included kerosene, jet fuel, gas oil and gasoline.

Some 2.4 million liters of gas oil, 4 million liters of kerosene, 31 million liters of furnace oil and 600,000 liters of 87-octane gasoline were exported from the country in the past year, IRNA quoted him saying on Saturday.

Salari added that premium gasoline was imported to the country during the period, and that last year Iran swapped 500 tons of liquid gas.

A total of 274 million liters per day of oil products were also swapped during the period, he said.

According to the official, consumption of gas oil and furnace oil grew by 2.5 percent and 10 percent during the period respectively, while consumption of gas liquid, gasoline and kerosene decreased by 9 percent, 2 percent and 2 percent respectively in the past year."    

Salari said that consumption of kerosene, gas oil and furnace oil has increased since the beginning of the current year as some 89.7 million liters of gasoline were consumed in the country on March 31.

The 17th Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Exhibition will be held from April 17-20 in Tehran International Permanent Fairground.
