JEDDAH: As part of their efforts to make Jeddah beaches beautiful, volunteers from Friends of Jeddah and the Saudi Electricity Co. (SEC) Western Region worked together to clean the Iskandariya beach in Obhur.

The cleaning drive was launched by Friends of Jeddah as part of a campaign called "The Most Beautiful Environment," which is aimed at keeping the city clean and beautiful.

"It is the practice of Friends of Jeddah to prioritize issues related to cleanliness and environment, as these issues have a direct bearing on the beauty of the city's beaches, which is a special point of attraction for tourists and visitors. The coastline is a major element in attracting tourists to Jeddah," said the group's director, Jamal Al-Mundhiri.

Al-Mundhiri said his group was delighted to collaborate with the SEC West volunteers.

"The campaign involves various activities inside and outside the Iskandariya beach, including sweeping pavements, removing rubbish and washing pedestrian paths and toilets," he said, adding that 50 volunteers from SEC participated in the campaign, working a total of 162 hours.
