RIYADH, 13 September 2007 -- Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh, renowned for its lavishly decorated Ramadan tent, has unveiled a new concept this year promising the ultimate in luxury for Iftar. "This year, the Ramadan tent will be a bigger and brighter affair featuring a new color scheme and offering guests an opportunity to view their favorite programs on large plasma screens," said Tarek Bekhiet, hotel's director of marketing, here yesterday.

"A special Kids Corner will cater for young ones, where the kids will engage themselves in exciting activities," said Bekhiet, adding that the children will also have the opportunity to play in a creative atmosphere and watch cartoons. He said that Iftar will be served daily from 5.30 p.m. until 7.30 p.m. with a menu featuring many local and regional delights as part of a new concept created by Executive Chef Brendan McGowan.

"Since Four Seasons Hotel opened in 2003, it has welcomed thousands of guests each Ramadan," said Bekhiet. He pointed out that "over 40,000 Iftar meals were served last year and this year we are expecting an even higher number." He said: "Our new and vibrant setting with the addition of superior high technology in the form of plasma screens will certainly offer our guests a much different and memorable experience".

Referring to the elaborate arrangements made this year, he said that the Seasons Restaurant will offer an alternative and intimate setting for both Iftar and Sahur with Iftar being served from 5.30 p.m. until 7.30 p.m. and Sahur from 10.00 p.m. to 03.00 a.m. The restaurant will also welcome children. "The famous Grill Restaurant of the hotel will serve Sahur buffet in the pleasant outdoor surroundings along the poolside," said Bekhiet, calling guests to make reservations in advance.

He pointed out that Ramadan is a time for giving and this year, Four Seasons Hotel will open its Tea Lounge for the sale of special Ramadan gift baskets. The baskets, crammed with a wide range of sweets, chocolates and other delicacies, are the perfect gift to give to loved ones and friends. "But more than this, 10 percent of the sales will be donated to Insan, a local charity organization in Riyadh supporting orphans," he added.
