CAIRO, Oct 27 (KUNA) -- Four committees affiliated with the Arab Interim Parliament (AIP) will submit their reports to the AIP's meeting tomorrow to be held at the Egyptian People's Assembly.

The four committees, External and Political Affairs, Economic and Financial Affairs, Legislative and Legal Affairs and Human Rights, have accomplished their reports on a host of issues they had discussed and would submit them to the AIP meeting, Speaker Mohammad Jassem Al-Saqr told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Saturday.

On top of these issues was the US Congress resolution on dividing Iraq, the Sudanese refugees, setting up an Arab customs union and the climate changes and their impact on the Arab world.

The AIP Committee on the External and Political Affairs and National Security, confirmed today its rejection of Iraq's partition, AIP member Saad Al-Gammal, head of the Egyptian People's Assembly on Arab affairs, told KUNA.

He added that he had also requested discussing the water crisis in the Arab world, since the Arab area suffers what he called "water poverty."

AIP Secretary General, Talat Hamed, told KUNA that the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee had discussed the issue of setting up an Arab customs union. A report on the issue is to be submitted to the next Arab summit due in Damascus in March, 2008.

"Participants agreed to convene a conference for the Arab customs officials to reach common understanding and consensus on the importance of the issue.

"The Committee also stressed that such a customs union would be a significant step for the Arab economic integration," Hamed added.
