Fluor Wins EPC Contract For New Joint Venture Polymer Project
Fluor Corporation on 16 August announced that it had been awarded an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by Saudi Acrylic Polymers Company (SAPCo), a joint venture between Saudi Acrylic Acid Company and Evonik Industries, for a Super Absorbent Polymer (SAP) project in Jubail. The contract was awarded during the second quarter of this year for an undisclosed amount. Work on the 80,000 tons/year capacity SAP project is under way and is scheduled to be completed and commissioned in the fourth quarter of 2013. Fluor said the SAP project is part of a larger program being developed by Saudi Acrylic Acid Company.
