Abu Dhabi, 28 April 2012 (WAM) - The Federal Demographic Structure Council (FDSC) discussed, in a meeting held recently under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Lt. General H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Emirati values project, which is being implemented in collaboration with the UAE University (UAEU).

It also reviewed progress of the project to set up overseas labour selection centres which is being implemented under a cabinet resolution.

Dr Saeed Abdullah, acting Secretary General of FDSC for policies and Dr Omer Al Nuaimi of UAEU, gave a presentation on the Emirati Values project which entails a first of its kind study on the set of basic values embraced by the citizens of the UAE to arrive at a clear understanding of the role of these values in the behaviours and ideals of citizens and residents.

The meeting also saw a presentation made by Dr Saeed Abdullah gave an overview of a study on setting up labour selection centres abroad to address inflow of unskilled labour to the country. The initiative is aimed at attracting highly productive skilled labour.
