MUSCAT -- Fashion Fabrics, a one stop shop for all fabric needs was opened on Ruwi High Street by Rayees Ahmed, a prominent businessman, educationist and a philanthropist yesterday.
Situated in more than 6,000 square metre opposite Makhah Business Centre in the heart of Ruwi, Fashion Fabrics caters to all clothing needs of both the expatriates and locals alike. The two floors of the showroom have a wide range of men's, women's, and children's dress materials arranged in an aesthetic way making its customers' shopping a pleasing experience.
"We are aiming at both the nationals as well as the expatriate communities and we have sourced a wide range of clothing materials for men and women from India, Pakistan, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Korea, Indonesia and far afield trying our level best to satisfy our customers with a vast range", says Abdul Nazar, Managing Director of Karama Hypermarket Group, one of the partners of this venture.
For Dubai-based retail clothing group Fashion Fabrics, the Muscat showroom is the maiden venture in Oman. Having diversified business interests in the UAE including Tootex Co LLC, Fashion Fabrics is triggered by ambitious business plans for the country.
"We have an ambitious plan for the Sultanate of Oman and this is our first step. After having established ourselves as a one-stop destination for all textiles, saris, shirting, suiting, and other dress materials in the UAE, we are sure the future will be brighter for us as we have plans for outlets in Sohar, Samayil, Khabourah and more to come", Mohammed Shafi, Proprietor, Fashion Fabrics said.
Karama Hypermarket, which has earned a reputable name in the retail shopping market of Oman in a short span of time, is synonymous with quality foodstuff for the past 12 years. Its Ruwi outlet, opened in February this year has been catering to the Muscat residents with the widest range of quality and value-for-money products. Spread over an area of 20,000 sq m, this outlet has been giving a sense of hassle free shopping with ample parking space to further enhance shopping experience with two entrances; one is from main road and second from Qaboos mosque service road.
"We are planning to come up with a few more hypermarkets in the interior regions of Oman in the near future. At Karama, customer satisfaction takes precedence over anything else.

Karama Hypermarket Bahla branch is slated to open in December this year while its Seeb outlet will be open early 2013. Khabourah Shopping Centre in Khabourah, Karama Fashion and Modern Batinah Jewellery in Suwaiq are other ventures of the Group for the coming years.
