Dubai: Fahad Ali Khan, winner of the Champions Trophy cricket “Gulf News Power Play competition” in association with MoneyGram, owes his success to his habit of reading the newspaper for half-an-hour every day.
“I devote half-an-hour from 6pm to go through every pages of Gulf News. It’s a habit I learned from my father and I make sure to compete in all competitions in the Gulf News ever since I became its subscriber five years ago,” said Khan, who is Assistant Manager Business Development of Scientechnic.
Khan, who hails from Karachi, loved cricket from a very young age. “Being born in Karachi where everyone is a cricket fan, I too got attracted to the game and played it from young age. I had won an iPod through the Gulf News 2011 ICC World Cup prediction competition,” said Khan, who plays for his company as a middle order batsman.
Khan received an air ticket to England with a three-night hotel stay and ticket to the Champions Trophy final from the officials of the MoneyGram.
“We have a prestigious affiliation with the ICC till 2015 World Cup and we are delighted to have conducted this competition with Gulf News for the last three years. We are staging many successful activities in connection with Champions Trophy in Middle East, UK and USA,” said Ananth Srivatsa, Senior Director - Marketing Middle East, South Asia & Asia Pacific of MoneyGram International.
“It will be a double delight for me if Pakistan would reach the final,” said Khan.
