DOHA: The Minister of Energy and Industry H E Dr Mohammed bin Saleh al Sada, along with senior officials from Qatar Petroleum, Qatar Petroleum International, RasGas Company Limited and Qatargas Operating Company Limited, visited ExxonMobil Corporation's headquarters in Irving, Texas. ExxonMobil executives welcomed the Minister and the visiting group at the headquarters.
During the course of visit, the group participated in business reviews which highlighted the success of strategic partnerships in developing Qatar's natural resources and supporting Qatar's industry-leading performance through project and operational excellence.
"Given the significance of our partnership with ExxonMobil, we are very pleased to once again visit with senior members of the company at its headquarters in Texas," said Dr Al Sada. "Qatar's importance in the global energy industry is unmistakable, and we look to build our business, both in Qatar and internationally, cultivating mutually beneficial partnerships will only become more important."
Andy Swiger, senior vice president, Exxon Mobil Corporation, hosted the delegation and stressed that the historic partnership between ExxonMobil and the State of Qatar and Qatar Petroleum is truly remarkable. "ExxonMobil's strengths complement those of Qatar Petroleum and our partnership is a model for national and international companies everywhere. Working together we have devised, developed and implemented solutions that neither side could have accomplished alone."
Bart Cahir, president and general manager of ExxonMobil Qatar Inc., reinforced the importance of having a strong partnership with Qatar Petroleum and employing unique technologies in developing the North Field.
"While we reflect proudly on the success we have created together, our work in Qatar is not finished," said Cahir. "With an eye to sustainable, safe, reliable, and efficient operations, ExxonMobil will continue to support Qatar Petroleum and our joint ventures, Qatargas and RasGas, to ensure the right elements are in place to protect the long-term viability of these assets."
The delegation included Mohamed Al Rumaihi, Qatar Ambassador to the US; Nasser Khalil Al Jaidah, Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Petroleum International; Hamad Rashid Al Mohannadi, Chief Executive Officer of RasGas; Saad Al Kaabi, Director of Oil and Gas Ventures for Qatar Petroleum; Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Thani, Chief Executive Officer of Qatargas, and other senior members of Qatar's oil and gas industry.
Rex W Tillerson, chairman and chief executive officer, Exxon Mobil Corporation, hosted a dinner in honour of the Minister.
