DUBAI, 12th August , 2014 (WAM)-- The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives rolled out by Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) during the Holy Month of Ramadan have positively influenced thousands of people, with the ongoing ?Human Fuel? campaign continuing to raise funds to address global poverty.

The highlight of the ENOC's Ramdan CSR activities was its contribution of AED3 million to the U.A.E. Water Aid initiative (U.A.E. Suqia), launched by Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to provide five million people around the world with access to fresh drinking water.

ENOC also supported the Iftar meal distribution by HH Princess Haya bint Al Hussain Centre for three days at four service stations by providing more than 1,200 Iftar meals. Additionally, 121,000 Iftar packs comprising dates, water and prayer beads were distributed for free to motorists at all ENOC/EPPCO service stations 30 minutes before Iftar, in association with Alokozay.

As part of ENOC?s TrabouT volunteering initiative, 20 employees of the company volunteered for two days to support Al Ihsan Charity Association?s ?A Safe Ramadan? campaign under the theme, ?A Ramadan without accidents.? Saif Al Falasi, Director of EHSQ and Corporate Affairs of ENOC, said, "We are truly honoured to have made a difference to various sections of the society through these initiatives highlighting the values of compassion and generosity, which are the hallmarks of the Holy Month."He added, "The various activities rolled out during the Holy Month reiterate our commitment to CSR activities and to fulfil the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to establish Dubai as the humanitarian capital of the world and as a city that cares for its residents and visitors."The ?Human Fuel? campaign being organised by ENOC encouraging customers to donate funds to support the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and Dubai Charity Association to address global hunger, also recorded strong response from the community.

ENOC hosted the Ramadan Lecture series in English and Arabic, by renowned scholars who covered the beliefs, customs and practices related to the Holy Month.

In other ongoing initiatives, Emirates Gas (EMGAS), a subsidiary of ENOC, joined hands with Dar Al Ber Society to distribute free LPG refill vouchers to 300 underprivileged families in Dubai, Ajman and Umm Al Qaiwain.
