Emirates airline will achieve a unique landmark this Sunday when it sponsoring three horse races, on three continents, on one day.
Proving its commitment to top-class international horse racing, Emirates will have significant representation at The Singapore Derby, The Darley Irish Oaks and The Delaware Handicap, all of which will be run on Sunday.
First out of the starting gates will be The Singapore Derby (Group 1), one of the richest events in Singapore's racing calendar and one Emirates has supported for the past ten years.
This year's event has attracted an international field of top-class four-year olds who will be racing over the 2000 metre course.
Crossing into Europe, Emirates' focus moves to Ireland where the airline sponsors a race at the classic Darley Irish Oaks meeting, run at the world-famous Curragh in County Kildare.
The home of Irish horse racing plays host to Dubai Day, with Emirates supporting the Emirates airline Minstrel Stakes (Group 3).
The event will also see the final of 'Fashions On The Turf', with Emirates providing the holiday of a lifetime to one of the winners of the competition, which has been running at The Curragh since May.
The third event in Emirates' day of globe trotting is the $1million Delaware Handicap (Grade 2) run at Wilmington, Delaware, in the US. The race is in its 68th year and will be run over a mile and a quarter for fillies and mares aged three years and over.
As part of Emirates' ongoing commitment to international horse racing, the Delaware Handicap is part of the Emirates airline Breeder's Cup Distaff Division and will be broadcast live to an audience of millions on ESPN2.
Gaith Al Gaith, Emirates' Senior Vice President Commercial Operations Worldwide, explained Emirates' remarked on super Sunday.
"This is a first for Emirates and is a perfect way to demonstrate our commitment to international horse racing," he said.
"Emirates has long believed that sport is a great way to connect with its customers by sharing their passions and what finer demonstration of that than to have three Emirates-sponsored races on three continents on just one day.
"To be associated with events in Asia, Europe and America all on the same day is a great way for Emirates to demonstrate its multi-cultural outlook and we are proud to be associated with each of these events. It strengthens Emirates position as a truly global brand."
Emirates is a committed supporter of established racing events around the world, including the Dubai World Cup, the world's richest horse race, and the renowned Emirates Melbourne Cup. Emirates also sponsors the prestigious Godolphin stable, horse-racing's most successful international stable.
In addition to horse racing, Emirates is also committed to number of major sporting initiatives, including the PGA Tour's Dubai Desert Classic and the Dubai Rugby 7s.
Last year Emirates signed a record-breaking sponsorship deal with English Premier League football club Arsenal.
