DUBAI, 10th October, 2013 (WAM) -- Emirates Post has celebrated World Post Day by lauding the U.A.E. winners of an annual international letter-writing competition, organised as part of the worldwide celebrations to mark the 139th anniversary of the founding of the Universal Postal Union, UPU.
The celebrations were held at the Dubai Police Officers? Club in association with the Ministry of Education, DEWA and Dubai Police.
The winners of the 42nd UPU International Letter-Writing Competition for Young People were congratulated on their subject of "why water is a precious resource". The competition was coordinated by Emirates Post?s Emirates Philately section in association with the Ministry of Education. Abdullah Al Ashram, CEO of Emirates Post, presented prizes and certificates to the UAE winners of the competition, along with their supervisors and teachers from respective schools and hailed the role played by the UPU in the development and modernisation of postal services. "At Emirates Post Group, we are determined to continue our march towards progress and innovation, as part of our vision to achieve leadership and excellence locally and internationally. As we celebrate World Post Day, we are pleased to honour these talented students. We congratulate the students for wonderfully capturing the need to conserve water resources, through their letters," he added.
