Dubai Emerson Process Management, a wholly owned Emerson company offering process automation solutions, has opened a new measurement transmitter centre at its Dubai facility in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza).
The facility is specifically for its Rosemount business, which provides a line of pressure, temperature, flow, level, and safety measurement instrumentation. With an investment of $3 million, the new controlled environment facility includes 330 square metres of shop floor area, 185 square metres of storage area and 180 square metres of shipping area.
Phil Bond, Vice-President for Rosemount Middle East and Africa said, “The localisation of our manufacturing activity will further enhance our strong customer support and enable us to provide value-added services such as quicker delivery times, local inspection, project order consolidation, and customer training. We aim to deliver standard models to our Middle East clients within two business days of receiving orders.
Training
“Our team is made up of a total of 16 engineers including three engineers with business management degrees. Significant amount of emphasis is also laid on training of college students to develop future engineers for the industry. We have already trained one engineer with four currently under training.”
Cor Corbeek, General Manager of Emerson Process Management-UAE, said, “The new centre will not only cater to our facility in Dubai but also to our recently launched Abu Dhabi facility in addition to our local operations in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and South Africa.”
Inaugurating the centre, Pat McGillycuddy, CEO of Economic Zones World, said, “Emerson’s decision to open a high-tech measurement a facility here adds to the profile of Dubai as the region’s most efficient logistics hub.”
