Abu Dhabi, Apr 27th, 2008 (WAM)--Anba Antonio Cathedral for Egyptian Coptic, marked last night Rurrection of Jesus Christ in Abu Dhabi.

Ishaq Al Anba Bishoy, pastor of Al Anba Antonio cathedral church in Abu Dhabi, appreciated at the night mass sermon in the name of Pope Shenouda III of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark, the" religious tolerance being exercised by the UAE leadership", wishing well for the UAE leadership and people. He prayed for the soul of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Present at the event were Adviser Ali Al Hashimi, religious adviser at the presidential affairs, Egyptian Ambassador to the UAE Mohammed Saad Ebeid, Dr Mohammed Mattar Al Ka'abi, director general of the General Authority for Islamic Awqaf, Muslim clerics and heads of Christian sects.

Al Hashimi highlighted the divine links among religions, lauding the UAE policy of religious tolerance, which allows followers of different beliefs to exercise their worship freely.

On his part, the Egyptian envoy congratulated Egyptian President Mohammed Hosni Mubarak and the Coptic sect, on resurrection.
