Cairo –  The Egyptian Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy has completed the expansion and replacement works of electricity networks in Luxor with investments of EGP 460 million since July 2014.

The number of electricity subscribers in the governorate of Luxor has reached about 437,000, the Minister of Electricity, Mohamed Shaker, said in a statement on Thursday.

The electricity upgrade plan in Luxor has been financed by a loan worth EGP 410 million.

In addition, the remaining EGP 50 million has been provided from the company’s own resources in addition to Haya Karima initiative.

The investment plan included the establishment of four 11 kilovolt (kv) power distributors, the replacement of one 11 kv power distributor, and the installation of 127 substations.
