The Egyptian government is planning to offer New Technology Park in Maadi, also known as Maadi Smart Village, as a public-private partnership (PPP) project, a senior official told Zawya.

Atter Hanoura, director of the PPP Central Unit at the Egyptian finance ministry, said the project, approved by the Egyptian cabinet, is spread over 75 acres, with a specific focus on attracting service sector businesses. It connects the three regions of Old Maadi, New Maadi and Zahraa Maadi in Cairo.

The project is expected to add USD 700 million to USD 900 million to Egypt's gross domestic product and will put the country on the global information technology map, Hanoura said.
