ArabFinance: The Egyptian government carried out development projects in Sohag governorate at total investments of EGP 630 million, Spokesman of the Cabinet Nader Saad said in a July 12th statement.

A total of 500,000 individuals in 29 villages benefited from the new developments, which came as part of the first phase of the Haya Karima (Decent Life) initiative.

Egypt executed 13 wastewater projects at a total cost of EGP 402 million, in addition to 17 in the education sector at a value of EGP 107 million.

Saad added that 35 developments were carried out in the electricity field at EGP 21.2 million, as well as another two in the health sector at EGP 31 million.

Eight new drinking water projects were executed at a cost of EGP 4.8 million and seven in the infrastructure sector at EGP 5.2 million.

Paving roads developments totaled 17 at investments worth EGP 44 million, besides a project in the irrigation field at EGP 13 million.

Minister of Local Development Mahmoud Shaarawy recently said the first phase of Haya Karima also enhanced 60 villages in Assiut.
