Dubai,Oct.17th, 2007 (WAM) --- Dubai Properties today announced the launch of AED 40 billion Mudon, its largest master development to date. Covering an area of 73 million square feet, the project will be located in Dubailand.

Mudon, meaning cities in Arabic, will incorporate five historic cities Baghdad, Beirut, Damascus, Cairo, and Marrakech within one large city. The architecture of each of the cities will resemble its real-life counterpart, providing 50,000 residents with an authentic living experience and a modern and luxurious lifestyle.

Mohamed Binbrek, CEO, Dubai Properties said: ?Mudon is our largest residential project so far. It symbolises our commitment to conceive unique communities that contribute to the growth of Dubai.

Mudon will recreate landmarks from historic Arab cities such as the colourful Kasbahs of Marrakech, the crowded bazaars of Cairo and majestic domes of Baghdad. From bustling Beirut to ancient Damascus, living in Mudon will be like stepping into the glorious age of Arabian renaissance. All the five cities within Mudon will be a separate community developed around a signature golf course. Each will feature a distinct town plan including designated downtown areas.

Mudon will feature a total of 3,200 villas and town houses and 8,500 apartment units, which will be fully designed developed by Dubai Properties, added Haiyan Mujarkech, chief officer for Business development and project owner.

Residents will have a choice of traditional townhouses with shared, landscaped courtyards, stand alone villas featuring 3, 4, 5 and 6 bedrooms and high end signature villas and apartments overlooking the fairways, he continued.

The downtown section of each city will also include residential buildings with studio, 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom apartments. Retail stores and boutiques will be conveniently located on the ground floor of these apartment blocks. Cafes, restaurants and hotel accommodation will provide added convenience in this part of the development.

Offices will be interspersed within Mudon, integrating a unique business hub into the thriving community. Communal areas and local amenities will include supermarkets, clinics, launderettes, and various other shared services located between the individual cities.

The project is being developed in phases over a period of 5 years, with the first phase due for completion by 2009.
