Fraudulent online recruitment activities, allegedly misusing Aster’s name, have been reported in several countries including India, Pakistan, Philippines, New Zealand and Zimbabwe.

Victims, who have fallen prey to the scam, revealed that letters are being provided by these fraudsters with promise of jobs on behalf of Aster Hospital, Mankhool, Aster clinic and other business entities owned by Aster DM Healthcare.

Aster has categorically condemned all such activities and has urged people to be extremely cautious in falling prey to such scams, adding that Aster recruits only as per governmental procedures and does not charge any fee for recruitment.

The company has filed cases with Dubai Police and with Cyber Cells to take action against online fraudsters who promise jobs with Aster and cheat people of money as recruitment expenses.

According to Sharma, following reports of the scam, the company immediately alerted the concerned authorities.

“The domain and ID from where such emails have originated have been blocked as far as possible. Aster urges caution by job seekers, reminding them not to contact the telephone numbers provided in these bogus emails,” he said.

The company has also clarified that they are not availing of the services of any travel agency for its recruitments, as some of the fake offer letters are issued in the name of travel agents.

He added that Aster DM Healthcare follows stringent HR compliance and policies.

“Recruitment is only through official channels such as newspaper advertisements, the services of approved recruitment agencies and employee referrals. No external agency has been authorised to collect any money for recruitment purposes. In Kerala, where the recruitment scam was first noted, Aster only operates as per the guidelines of NORKA, a department of the government of Kerala,” he said.
