Dubai: Kuwaiti developer Abyaar Real Estate has awarded a $260 million contract to Dubai's Modern Executive Systems Contracting (MESC) for its Dubai Marina towers Pier 24 and Pier 8.

Work on the first tower - the exclusive Radisson SAS-operated Pier 24, which is due to be completed in the summer of this year - is well ahead of schedule with the 20-storey, 90-metre tower having reached the 15th storey.

Marzooq Al Rashdan, managing director of Abyaar said: "As a company we will deliver on what we promise, with work on the project starting last summer, four months before we first launched in Dubai, we can be confident of meeting the exacting standards and timelines that we set for ourselves."

Consultant design for the 40-storey, Pier 8 - which is due to be completed by the end of 2008 - is being undertaken by WS Atkins.

KEO International Consultants have carried out the design and management services while Zebian Aluminium will supply all glazing and aluminium products for Pier 24.
