Doha: Doha Festival City, Qatar's largest retail and leisure destination, is partnering with leading business conglomerate, Ali Bin Ali Group, to bring the first full-size Monoprix store to the city.

The move follows the success and popularity of the award-winning Monoprix brand which recently opened its first outlet in West Bay.

Monoprix, which has 500 stores in France and 85 outside, will offer an unparalleled selection of many of the well-recognised international food, cosmetic and fashion brands in the conveniently located 7,100sqm store on the ground floor of Doha Festival City Mall.

"This is yet another milestone for Doha Festival City and we are honoured to be featuring one of the most sought-after names in French retailing.

"Monoprix's presence comes out of a partnership with the Ali Bin Ali Group, which for generations has focused on bringing global brands into the local market. Following its official opening in Q3 2016, the mall will be home to some of the world's most admired and sought-after brands which will position it as Qatar's most attractive shopping and entertainment destination, and therefore the inclusion of Monoprix among our primary retail stores was a natural and complementary choice," said Kareem M Shamma, CEO, BASREC, the joint venture which comprises Dubai-based Al Futtaim Real Estate Services, Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB), Aqar Real Estate Development & Investment Company and a private Qatari investor.

The Group's Vice-Chairman, Nabeel Ali bin Ali said, "We have been very pleased at how the market has received the Monoprix brand and we have no doubt that its presence as part of the mall's offerings will be a crucial step in its growth. We look forward to strengthening this partnership in the future."

Many new stores will be making their debut at the mall which has signed agreements with leading retailers Azadea, Alshaya, Landmark, Apparel, Rivoli, Dubai Holding Group, Al Futtaim Group Retail brands and others, to bring an appealing mix of clothing, electronics, entertainment and food and beverage outlets.

Vox Cinemas is also set to redefine the country's entertainment landscape with the introduction of a state-of-the-art theatre at the mall, featuring 16 digital screens.

"We are excited to be partnering with such a high-profile shopping mall in Qatar which is set to drastically change the country's retail and leisure landscape. No other mall in the country has featured such a dynamic mix of brands and exciting leisure and entertainment offerings under one roof," said. Christian Kestemont, General Manager, Monoprix Qatar.
