Dubai, 10th Aug 2009 (WAM) -- The Dubai Municipality's Dubai Central Laboratory updated the standard specifications of the Municipality for concrete blocks used in building and construction through its Research and Standardization Management office.
This comes from the Municipality's vision in building a distinctive city following Dubai Government's strategy in building the city of business and money, and following the international standards and practices, for the outstanding contribution to the preservation of the environment, public health and safety. The Municipality's specification consists of six parts focuses on different types of blocks, and the update included the following parts and types: the first part of the natural weight concrete blocks; the second part of the lightweight concrete blocks and the fourth part is related the paving concrete blocks. Eng. Hwa Abdullah Bastaki, Head of Dubai Central Laboratory Department said, that this update is in line with the laboratory's vision to become a grantor trust for the best products at the global level. Arif Al Marzouqi, Acting Head of Research and Standardization Management Office said, "The municipality currently has a list of 23 different products' specifications intended for circulation in the local market, and these are continuously reviewed to keep pace with the global developments and updating them accordingly.Copyright Emirates News Agency (WAM) 2009.
