The possibility of another terrorist attack in Algiers is "very weak", Algerian national security (DGSN) chief Major-General Abdelghani Hamel said on Sunday (October 24th). Speaking at his first press conference since replacing slain DGSN head Ali Tounsi last July, Hamel said the country's security coverage had reached 70%.

He also defended the merit of Algiers' security barricades. Commuters complain that road blockades cause traffic delays.
