Sharjah: Delhi Private School, Sharjah beat Westminster School, Dubai, 69-40, to reach the finals of 19th NIMS Trophy Inter School Basketball Tournament.
The tournament, which was organised by New Indian Model School, Sharjah, was played at the Al Shaab Indoor Basketball court, in Sharjah.
DPS will meet the hosts NIMS, Sharjah who beat Our Own English High School, Sharjah in the other semifinal 69-43.
NIMS, Sharjah led 22-4 in the first quarter and never looked back.
At half time NIMS were leading 37-17.
Mohd. Jashir and Abdullah Al Maqsud ere the joint top scorers for NIMS with 20 points each.
For Our Own, Sharjah Bryan netted 24 points and Noaman contributed another 13.
West Minster school scored just nine points against 37 in the first half of their game against DPS.
But the West Minster team rallied well in the second half to and put up a good fight against DPS.
They managed to score 31 after half-time while their opponents netted 32 points
Sidheek, who sank 20 points and Kenneth, who hit another 18 points, excelled for DPS, Sharjah.
Abdullah was the top scorer for West Minster Dubai with 12 points.
In another match, defending champions Our Own High School, Al Warqa, edged out host New Indian Model School, Sharjah in the semifinals of 11th NIMS Mini (Under 13 boys) by a margin of one point. 21-20.
Our Own, Warqa led after the first half by scoring 11 points against seven points.
NIMS fought back in the last quarter to lead by two points but lost control in the dying moments of the game.
Our Own will meet last year's runners up Emirates National School, sharjah who beat Winchester School, Dubai 50-20.
