Dubai, 3rd April 2012 (WAM) -- Abdul Rahman Saif Al Ghurair, Chairman of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), opened today the 7th edition of "Dubai International Wood & Wood Machinery Show 2012", the leading event in the region of the timber trade and machinery, at the "Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre" on an area of 9000 square meters and will run until April 5th.
This year edition of "Dubai International Wood & Wood Machinery Show 2012" is the largest since its first edition in 2005 as this year show will include more than 420 exhibitors from 34 countries around the world which will strengthen its position as the leading specialized exhibition timber in the region through the creation of investment opportunities appropriate and business potential for the participants. The Show will create a unique opportunities for communication between entrepreneurs and professionals in the field of timber, machinery and technology related in addition to many presentations, lectures and workshops aiming to increase the awareness in the region about the importance of wood as a core subject in the construction and design. Attracting more then 8000 visitors and an expert and a specialist in the industry, this year event witnessed an unprecedented presence of a large number of participants, exhibitors and industry business man in this sector. Organisers say the "Dubai International Wood & Wood Machinery Show 2012" will provide an opportunity to learn the latest techniques and innovations, equipment and developments in the sector, while turning the attention of manufacturers and timber merchants to sustainable resources and renewable and the desire to not be a reason to increase the environmental burden. The exhibition will be a unique platform to discuss future trends in the sector through the collection of companies and construction contractors, manufacturers and designers from around the region. The Dubai International Wood & Wood Machinery has witnessed tremendous growth over the previous seven years growing from 75 exhibitors representing 15 countries in 2006 to more than 250 exhibitors from 30 countries last year. This year addition the show has seen significant growth experienced by hosting 420 global exhibitors from 34 countries. The exhibition will include in its session this year national pavilions of 22 countries, including UAE, Germany, France, Austria, Italy and the United States, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Ghana, Canada, Spain and Turkey, thus enhancing the status of the exhibition prestigious among the largest events of regional trade in the sector.
