Cosmoplast Industrial Company LLC has set up a new factory in Sharjah to produce pre-insulated core service pipes for district cooling systems.
"There has been a great demand for insulated pre-insulated pipe systems in the region because district cooling systems are getting popular and are replacing existing window and central air-conditioning systems," said Jim Dymock, general manager.
The company produces pipes locally in collaboration with German-based Isoplus, known in Europe for its pre-insulated pipes for district heating systems.
"We are dealing with major developers and contractors in the region to provide our locally produced pipes which are of international standard but cost less," Dymock said.
The company organised a seminar yesterday in Dubai and invited leading property developers, consultants and contractors to introduce its range of pre-insulated pipe systems and the leakage reduction system.
In the region, the interconnection of multiple buildings for air-conditioning through district cooling systems creates economies of scale and diversity of load shapes that allow more efficient use of capital, better load factors and operating efficiency of equipment, and environmentally-optimum energy sources.
After Cosmoplast's achievement in pre-insulated pipe manufacture, and due to the expanding growth of district cooling systems in the Gulf region, the company has expanded its range to cover different market segments.
