Riyadh-based CompuSoft, a Microsoft Business Solutions partner, has acquired a major stake in South Africa-based Resolution, another partner within the MBS global network. The resulting alliance, Resolution CompuSoft, creates the largest Microsoft Business Solutions partner outside North America. With over 90 full-time employees offering extended services across the Middle East and beyond, the new group initially will serve a customer base of around 160 companies.
“The Resolution CompuSoft partnership crosses national boundaries and enhances the capabilities of both parties to deliver integrated services and innovative products to a wide range of industry sectors,” said Venkat Raman, channel director, Middle East, Microsoft Business Solutions.
Both parties in the new alliance have expressed enthusiasm about the potential business opportunities it offers. From the South African side, there is considerable excitement about the opportunities for tapping into the skills and competencies of the CompuSoft team in Saudi Arabia.
“A good solutions partner is required to have a wide range of skills, including project management, program development, business analysis, system design and implementation consulting,” said Resolution CompuSoft managing director, Grant Skinner. “We will be putting programs together with Microsoft Business Solutions to acquire the resources we need and will be engaging in cross-training of product specialists with CompuSoft.”
In addition to increasing their portfolio of international clients, CompuSoft is looking to extend its market presence in Saudi Arabia, which represents the largest market in the Middle East for IT spending. According to recent research from IDC, the Kingdom currently accounts for almost a third of all technology investment in the Middle East and North Africa.
“This alliance will help us improve the services that we can offer our customers through a stronger team and diversified knowledge base.
Our combined team is now well placed to achieve an even more prestigious international position, and provide our customers in the Kingdom with a blend of world-class technology and tailored services,” said Bandar Al Rajhi, managing director, CompuSoft.
