Chevron Awards CPC Pipeline Expansion Project Services Contract To Fluor

Chevron Neftegaz has awarded US firm Fluor Corporation a project services contract for the marine terminal and control systems portions of the Caspian Pipeline Expansion project on behalf of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC). Fluor issued a statement on 17 August saying the work would involve oversight assistance for the deepwater marine terminal expansion in Novorossiysk as well as the supervisory control and data system (SCADA) for the entire pipeline. The project is scheduled to be completed at the end of 2014. The CPC consortium – which comprises Transneft, Kazakh state firm KazMunaiGaz (KMG), Chevron, ExxonMobil and Lukoil – began work on 1 July to raise capacity of the 1,500km Tengiz-Novorossiysk oil pipeline from 730,000 b/d to 1.4mn b/d (MEES, 11 July).
