DAMASCUS - The Central Leadership of the National Progressive Front (NPF) reviewed Monday the latest political developments and listened to a comprehensive report by Vice President Farouk al-Shara on the current political situation at the Arab, regional and international levels.
The NPF, in a meeting headed by its Deputy Head Dr. Suleiman Qaddah, stressed the importance of restoration and activation of the Arab solidarity, strengthening the joint Arab action and upgrading the relations among the Arab countries to the level of the current challenges facing the nation.
The leadership saw that the Doha agreement is a fulcrum for foundation for a new Arab situation that would strengthen the Arab relations and handle the various issues under the national dimension and consultation and coordination regarding what interests the Arab nation and peoples of the region.
It considered the intensive activities carried out by President Bashar al-Assad, visits and Arab and international contacts as an affirmation on Syria's central role, especially after the Arab Summit held in Damascus, in reviving the Arab solidarity based on achieving the highest national interests of the Arab nation.
The Central Leadership also reviewed the economic situation in the country and the actions taken to improve standard of the living of citizens and stressed the need to treat the existing problems and finding appropriate solutions and listened to a report in this regard by Prime Minister Mohammad Naji Ottri.
The NPF commended the efforts exerted by President Bashar al-Assad to immunize the homeland and citizen, and highly appreciated his political method in defense of the highest national and pan Arab interests.
