On the occasion of the 60th Anniversary of the Independence of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) announced the issuance of gold and silver commemorative coins. A CBJ source said that these coins will be available for sale at CBJ and its branches in Aqaba and Irbid as of May 28, 2006.
Face Value of the gold commemorative coin is JD60 and for the silver one JD10.
