Dubai: People across Dubai celebrated Eid with gusto across the emirate's parks, playgrounds and malls.
From pony and camel rides in special children's play areas to family barbeques in the park and night-time fireworks, there was hardly a dull moment.
Children of all nationalities were captivated as the Barney's magical castle show at Dubai Airport Expo took them on a medieval-themed adventure trip.
Fireworks over the Dubai Festival City marina entertained visitors outside, while inside revellers were treated to a Fun Fair zone. A Heritage Zone also provided an insight into traditional celebrations through music, cuisine and exhibits.
The Eid District was home to the Fuwallat, with some 50 volunteers distributing tea, dates and incense to all who passed by.
Al Ghurair City held special programmes as part of the Eid in Dubai initiative.
Visitors to the mall got a chance to understand the uniquely Arab sport of falconry and were allowed to interact with a trained falconer and ask questions about the beautiful birds of prey. Elsewhere, residents got a taste of Eid celebrations as traditional dance troupes held their attention amid the rush of picnic-goers in the park and through henna painting sessions.
