ArabFinance: Carrefour Egypt teamed up with the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) and joined forces with Carrefour Lebanon in support of the victims of the Beirut explosion earlier this month, according to an August 26th press release.

The retail company, which is operated in Egypt by the UAE Majid Al Futtaim, took part in collecting, donating, and distributing contributions through various channels such as facilitating customer donations.

The Arab republic franchise already distributed more than 10 tons of textiles and food items to the people of Beirut via the ERC, as part of the region-wide donation initiative launched by Carrefour brand.

Until the end of September, people can donate to the ERC’s Rest of Pound initiative at all Carrefour hypermarkets across Egypt.

Online donation is also available through digital vouchers as their value will be used to buy essential supplies for the victims of the August 4th massive blast.

Egypt has been supporting Lebanon through an air bridge operated under the directives of President Abdel Fattah el Sisi.
