ERBIL - The ministerial candidates for the seventh cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government were named today.
Kurdistan MPs have received the names and the CVs of the candidates yesterday, and will take part in voting for the candidates tomorrow, according to a statement by the Office of the Presidency of Kurdistan Parliament.
The candidates were revealed by MP Dilshad al-Shahab, who has been nominated for Minister of Municipalities and Tourism, on the website of Kurdistan TV Satellite channel:
Minister of Interior, Kareem al-Sinjari
Minister of Peshmarga, Jaafar al-Mustafa
Minister of Finance, Bayeez al-Saaed
Minister of Natural Resources, Ashti al-Hawrami
Minister of Justice, Sherwan al-Haidari
Minister of Planning, Ali al-Sindi
Minister of Health, Rekawt Hama-Rasheed
Minister of Education, Ismat Mohammed al-Khaled
Minister of Municipalities and Tourism, Dilshad al-Shahab
Minister of Reconstruction and Housing, Kamaran al-Ahmed
Minister of Higher Education, Ali al-Saeed
Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Asos al-Najeed
Minister of Culture and Youth, Kawa al-Mahmoud

Most of the candidates are from the ruling Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, led respectively by Kurdistan president Massoud al-Barzani and his Iraqi counterpart Jalal al-Talabani.
